Approx. 9 minutes. Bluesish is composed for 5/4/4/4 jazz orchestra. Solos are for tenor 1 and trumpet 2. This is a slow, even-eighth style piece with lots of space and room to stretch out in the improvised sections.
The dynamic marking “m” is used throughout to indicate “mezzo”, or medium volume, in place of the more typical “mf” and “mp”.
Instrumentation: [5, 4, 4, 4] soprano/alto, alto 2, 2 tenor, baritone saxophone (doubles bass clarinet); trumpets 3 & 4 double flugelhorn.
